One year around the sun with this little ray of light. 

Curious, silly, sweet, and expressive— I adore being your auntie and seeing the little person you’re becoming each day.
When I was younger, I wanted to be a primatologist when I grew up.

I wanted to #BeLikeJane.

I was lucky enough to meet Dr. Jane a handful of times.

In college I ended up studying human primates. And the policies they make to protect each other and
I never really enjoyed football, but I always loved Superbowl Sunday. 

It wasn’t because of the snazzy commercials. Or dazzling half time. Or decadent snacks. Or the newer, cuter “puppy bowl.”

✨But because of a ritual I shared wit
A Christmas feast.

Do you have any favorite walking habits or games?

In wandering walks through Brooklyn during the first quarantine, I often found myself, quite literally, looking for bright spots.

Yellow doors were much more common than I had
Looking for signs. Some found poetry from neighborhood walks:

It was all a dream.

Confession: I am obsessed with children’s books. 

In my mind, I moonlight as a sort of ad hoc children’s librarian. At any time, I have 15-20 on my shelf, even without any actual kids at home. I’ve probably bought a couple hundred
Leave it all on the field, they said. 

A long campaign of calls, letters, doorknocking, and hard conversations. 

A week on the brink, cusp... waiting in patience and disbelief.

Today, we spill joyously into the streets, cheering, honking, dancing.
A month ago, I compared my 2020 and 2019 calendars. 

I began tracking my travels with these analog calendars about five years ago. I had just moved to New York and began a job that took me all over the world. 

I needed some way to track the days. T
